Jun 04–Jul 02
Claude Monet
The Artist’s House at Argenteuil, 1873
This characteristically Impressionist scene shows the sun-dappled garden of Monet’s house outside Paris. His son Jean plays with a wooden hoop while his wife Camille watches from the doorsteps.

Jul 03–Jul 31
Pierre Auguste Renoir
Lunch at the Restaurant Fournaise(The Rowers’ Lunch), 1875
Renoir painted this canvas in Chatou, west of Paris, where his friends the Fournaise family ran a restaurant on an island in the river Seine. It was a popular meeting place for rowing enthusiasts.

Aug 01–Aug 29
Vincent van Gogh
Grapes, Lemons, Pears, and Apples, 1887
Van Gogh made use of still life as a vehicle for technical experimentation. Here he achieves a sense of energy through vibrant colors and brushstrokes that create an aureole-like effect around the fruits.

Aug 30–Sep 26
Gustave Caillebotte
Paris Street; Rainy Day, 1877
Typically Impressionist in subject but atypical in its large scale and formal composition, Caillebotte’s masterpiece captures both the poetry and the anonymity of the modern Parisian streetscape.
